What I Offer
Full Manuscript Evaluation
A full read of your manuscript (up to 100,000 words), followed by a detailed editorial letter focused on what’s working, what isn’t, and what to prioritize in revision.
I look at structure, pacing, character, stakes, plausibility, and overall cohesion, with an emphasis on how the book is actually landing for a reader—what I’m tracking, where I’m confused, and whether that confusion is working in your favor or undercutting your reveals/twists.
You’ll receive:
- A 4–6 page editorial letter
- In-line notes capturing real-time reader response
- A short follow-up exchange via email to clarify any questions
- Optional 30-minute call available as an add-on
Best suited for writers who:
- have a complete draft
- are preparing to query or submit
- feel their manuscript isn’t quite working, but aren’t sure why
Opening Pages Evaluation
A close read of your first 50 pages, with a focused editorial letter on how the opening is landing.
I’m looking at the elements that determine whether a reader, agent or editor keeps going: clarity, pacing, character introduction, and narrative drive. You’ll come away understanding whether the opening is doing its job, and what to adjust if it isn’t.
You’ll receive:
- A 2–3 page editorial letter
- In-line notes capturing real-time reader response
- A short follow-up exchange via email to clarify any questions
Best suited for writers who:
- are early in the drafting process
- want feedback before continuing
- are preparing to query and want to pressure-test their opening
FAQs
You can expect feedback within 2-3 weeks of your project start date. If there’s a waitlist, I’ll let you know before we begin.
I work with fiction writers at all stages—aspiring, agented, and published. While I have a lot of love for nonfiction, poetry, and kids’ lit, I’m not taking on those projects at this time.
Yes. While I write in suspense, I work with novelists across genres.
My goal is to help you produce the strongest version of your manuscript. I don’t provide referrals to agents or publishers.
I focus primarily on big-picture feedback. For projects that require more detailed line-level work, I’m happy to discuss on a case-by-case basis or point you toward useful resources.
